Sport And Recreation Facility Grant Program Now Open (20/01/2010)
Applications for funding under the Sport and Recreation Facility Grant Program are now open, Member for Ballina Don Page said today.
“This program provides funding to develop and enhance the network of major sporting and recreational facilities within our communities,” Mr Page said.
“Projects must meet the needs of the general community. The aim of the program is to increase regular and on-going participation in sport recreation and structured physical activity. It also aims to improve access for people from groups that find it difficult to access sport,” Mr Page said.
Eligible groups include NSW incorporated, community based not-for-profit organizations and Local Government authorities.
“Grants are offered on a dollar for dollar basis and range between $500 and $200,000. Organisational contribution can include voluntary labour,” Mr Page said.
Applications close at 5pm on Tuesday, 16th February 2010. Applications are to be made online and are available via the Department of Sport and Recreation website, www.dsr.nsw.gov.au
