Ballina Electorate Media Releases
Deadline Extended For 2010 Community Building Partnerships (16/07/2010)
The closing date for applications for the 2010 NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership program has been extended to Friday 6 August 2010.
Member for Ballina, Don Page MP is encouraging all eligible groups to take advantage of the extended deadline. Organisations such as charities, sporting, social and environmental groups and Councils in the Ballina electorate are invited to apply for funding for projects to build or improve community facilities.
“People in the Ballina electorate will have access to $400,000 for the building and improvement of vital infrastructure that will enhance the wellbeing of local communities,” he said.
“I encourage any community groups whose applications were not successful last year to reapply,” Mr Page said.
“Funding of $300,000 is available to every electorate in NSW as part of the Community Building Partnership but, because the Ballina electorate has a high rate of unemployment, we receive an additional $100,000,” he said.
“Groups applying for funding need to demonstrate how their project will deliver positive results for the community.
“Local councils will need to make a commitment of matching the funding from the Government,” Mr Page said.
“Projects must be ready to commence by late 2010 and be completed before 31 December 2011,” he said.
Last year 14 community groups received funding through the program:
- Ballina Little Athletics $15,000
