Funds for Ballina Electorate Athletes, Coaches and Officials (17/04/2009)
A group of Ballina Electorate athletes, coaches and officials have been awarded grants under the 2009 NSW Country Athletes Scheme and 2009 NSW Country Coaches and Officials Travel Scheme, Member for Ballina Don Page said today.
“I am pleased to announce twenty seven local athletes received total funding of $24,249 under the Country Athletes Scheme,” Mr Page said.
The successful recipients are:
- Samuel Petterson – Athletics
- Christopher McIllhatton – Basketball
- Rohan Napoli – Rugby Union
- Georgia Redmayne – Cricket
- Olivia Cregan – Gymnastics
- Lauren Sculley – Netball
- Rohan Napoli – Water Polo
- Paul Carter – Water Polo
- Blake Carter – Water Polo
- Rachel Carter – Water Polo
- Mason Fettell – Water Polo
- Isaac Hair – Water Polo
- Aaron Teys – Bowling
- Madison Beckerleg – Surf Life Saving
- Hannah Sculley – Surf Life Saving
- Michael Barnett – Surf Life Saving
- Tanyn Lyndon – Surf Life Saving
- Joshua Brown – Surf Life Saving
- Shannon Hulbert-Green – Surf Life Saving
- Sam Cook – Swimming
- Brianna Wilson – Taekwondo
- Jacqueline Gray – Golf
- Adam Bradford – Yachting
- Daniel Bradford – Yachting
- Alexandra Blackburn – Yachting
- Catherine Blackburn – Yachting
- Sasha Phillips - Yachting
“These funds provide the opportunity for local athletes to obtain first class training, coaching and competition,” Mr Page said.
“The large number of recipients and the wide range of sports represented is an indication of the wealth of sporting talent we have in the Ballina Electorate. I wish all grant recipients the best of success in their chosen sport.”
The successful recipients of the Country Coaches and Officials Travel Scheme, receiving a combined total of $2,000 are:
- Jason Free – Gymnastics
- Dennis Brown – Rugby Union
- Anthony Thomas – Squash
