Tourism Minister Matt Brown WIN TV 20 August 2008
Statements made by NSW Minister that “I would rather give birth to a chair than live in the North Shore” are puerile, offensive and inappropriate, according to the Shadow Minister for Tourism Don Page.
“The State Government have a Brand Sydney marketing strategy in developmentand these comments from the State Tourism Minister denigrating a section of Sydney are insulting and inappropriate,” Mr Page said.
“As NSW Tourism Minister Matt Brown has a state-wide responsibility and he should not be criticising any part of the State in such derogatory terms.
“These comments are unbecoming for a Government Minister, but the people of NSW have come to expect such offensive behaviour from their Labor Ministers following the Iguana-gate scandal,” he said.
Mr Page called on Mr Brown to apologise for his comments.
